Divot Stomping

The Sarasota Polo Club carries on the polo tradition of halftime divot stomping, where spectators are invited out onto the polo field during halftime to help replace the “divots” (or turf that is torn up by the horses’ hooves during play). By pressing the divots back into place, you are able to help us ensure a safe and playable surface for both the horses and the players while they play the second half of the polo match.

Tractor-Pulled Wagon Rides

The Sarasota Polo Club wagon comes out at halftime of each polo match, offering rides for people of all ages! Simply hop in line, and jump aboard when our staff are ready for you!

Hitting Horses

Want to try polo without actually getting on a real horse? Check out our wooden hitting horses at halftime of any of the public polo matches for a chance to see what it’s like to hit a polo ball through the goal posts! Our staff will help you aboard our trusty wooden steeds, provide you with a real polo mallet to use, and set you up for success!

Meet Mini Mart

Want a chance to meet a real polo pony? Halftime is your chance! The beautiful Mini Mart comes out at halftime of each public polo match, oftentimes in costume to match the tailgate theme, and is ready for YOU to come meet her!

Keep an eye out on our social media pages, as we offer a select number of “Paint Mini Mart” dates as well!

Tailgate Themes

Each Sunday, the Sarasota Polo Club offers a unique tailgate theme – often offering you the chance to come in costume, or participate in various tailgate theme contests. Since these themes vary by the week, the best way to keep up-to-date on the tailgate themes is by following us on social media and checking out our 2026 Season Schedule.

Thank you to Asolo Repertory Theatre for sponsoring our 2025 Season Tailgate Themes.
